Jennifer Little, an administrative assistant in our Bend office, wrote the article "Shift into a New Gear" for bikearoundbend.com.
The article focuses on how Stahancyk, Kent & Hook has catered to the needs of its employees who bike to work instead of drive.
"Let’s get physical! Not that Bend has ever had a problem with being active, but that’s generally in people’s spare time. Now it’s time to put the business’ wheels in motion…literally. Bend businesses are going green, but what about the employees? Are they being as eco-friendly as their employer? Sure, people are recycling and going paperless but they’re still guzzling gas on the commute to work. The solution to pollution is teaming up with pocket pinchers and health nuts to encourage people to commute to work on their bicycles. Biking to work decreases the amount of pollution emitted into the air, helps to save money on gas and car maintenance, and keeps people in good health. Sure you’ve heard it all before, but here is an example of one business in Bend that is making it happen."
